Gustavo Petro wins the Historic Pact for Lights and Shadows

Gustavo Petro the candidate confirmed on Sunday the favoritism that was spotted by polls for a week.

The win was won by Bogota's previous mayor and senator from the Republic. The result officially makes him a candidate in the Presidency of the Republic, an office he aspirates to for the 3rd time.

His high vote at the meeting is the most representative of the Colombian Left, and a reliable candidate for the presidency, despite controversial proposals and ideas on multiple fronts, such as the economic one.

Petro announced his plans to reform the pension system through the establishment of a public administrator of the pension fund. The pension system will be "mixed" and will complement the private fund.

The candidate claimed that Colombia doesn't have a retirement system, but rather a system that makes bank profits. Many believe that this will prevent his from being President. Petro declared recently that he wouldn't eliminate the system, but he will pursue reforms in pensions to ensure that Colombians have a minimum pension. Petro said that there is "no requirement" to increase the age of retirement.

Another issue that has caused controversy is that he has repeatedly promised that he will stop oil extraction when the day he assumes office as President, a situation that has caused uncertainty among investors and the market in general.

Experts estimate that Petro's proposal to cease exploration of oil in Colombia will result in a cost around $4.3 billion.

In addition to this, the proposal is the creation of an anti-oil movement in the region and the world that will move away from fossil fuels to which I would like to invite the president-elect of Chile, Gabriel Boric, as well as the Brazilian Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, and others.

His position on health concerns has been controversial as well, as he has insisted on ending EPS and replacing it with a preventive care model that "guarantees the rights of individuals and not the profits of bankers".

He also raised doubts about the independence of Banco de la Republica. He announced that he would make reforms should he become President.

Invamer asserts that Petro is the president's choice for voting intention.

His plan to issue cash to fund government spending was controversial.

It is also highlighted that he will propose a tax reform that eliminates exemptions and the transformation of the concept of minimum wage by a real wage that is based on capital and income.
